Measurements: The top of the shelf is 13" in width and 5 1/2" in depth. The length is 7 1/4" ...click for details
This is a beautiful old early Victorian box, case for display or to hold your precious memories. This antique casket is made of burl wood and adorned with brass ormolu. Inside is silk lined on the top, velvet lined on the bottom. This could be a jewelry casket or possibly a perfume casket. There are mark on the velvet where bottles could have rested.
Fine antique hand painted box. I believe this to be English but it could also possibly be American. The box is hand painted in ebony with much detail . On the lid is a scene of Asian people playing cards. There is an ivory escutcheon surrounding the keyhole. No key is provided. There are the remains of old burlap n the bottom.
